Grain Market Size in China

The Chinese grain market contracted to $X in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Grain consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

Grain Production in China

In value terms, grain production declined to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, the total production indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Pakistan (X tons), Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main destinations of grain exports from China, with a combined X% share of total exports. The Philippines, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan (Chinese), Eritrea, Indonesia, Germany and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
