Meat Market Size in Eastern Europe

In 2022, the average yield of meat in Eastern Europe shrank slightly to X kg per head, approximately mirroring the year before. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, meat exports totaled $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded X% of total exports. Hungary (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Belarus (X%) and Russia (X%). The following exporters - the Czech Republic (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Romania (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Belarus and the Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Romania (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest meat supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland stood at X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (X% per year) and Hungary (X% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Poland was the main importer of meat in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. Romania (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by the Czech Republic (X%), Slovakia (X%), Hungary (X%), Russia (X%), Bulgaria (X%) and Belarus (X%).
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to meat imports into Poland stood at X%. At the same time, Romania (X%), Slovakia (X%), Bulgaria (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Hungary (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
