Exports in the EU
In 2023, shipments abroad of vinegar decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, vinegar exports rose significantly to $X in 2023. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
In 2023, Italy (X tons), distantly followed by Spain (X tons), France (X tons), Germany (X tons), Greece (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) represented the key exporters of vinegar, together achieving X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the largest vinegar supplier in the European Union, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an X% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked in 2023 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
