Bridge Exports

Exports in the EU

After two years of decline, shipments abroad of bridges, bridge sections, towers and lattice masts (of iron or steel) increased by X% to X tons in 2023. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, bridge exports soared to $X in 2023. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

In 2023, Germany (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the key exporters of bridges, bridge sections, towers and lattice masts (of iron or steel) in the European Union, together constituting X% of total exports. In general, imports, however, enjoyed moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
