Exports in the EU

In 2022, shipments abroad of motor vehicle engines (spark-ignition) decreased by X% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, motor vehicle engine exports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which recorded X% of total exports. Germany (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Hungary (X%), France (X%), Austria (X%) and Spain (X%). Italy (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the motor vehicle engines (spark-ignition) exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Among the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of X%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
