Loading Machinery Market Size in Europe

In 2023, the Europe loading machinery market increased by X% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, consumption remained at a lower figure.

After seven years of growth, shipments abroad of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery decreased by X% to X units in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2022, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, loading machinery exports expanded significantly to $X in 2023. Total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2023 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

Germany was the main exporter of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery in Europe, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), Italy (X units), France (X units) and Belgium (X units), together mixing up a X% share of total exports. Sweden (X units), Poland (X units), the UK (X units), Romania (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Spain (X units), Finland (X units) and Austria (X units) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to loading machinery exports from Germany stood at X%. At the same time, Poland (X%), Romania (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), the Netherlands (X%), Italy (X%), France (X%), Belgium (X%), Spain (X%), Sweden (X%), the UK (X%), Austria (X%) and Finland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest loading machinery supplier in Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany totaled X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (X% per year) and Italy (X% per year).

In 2023, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, faced a abrupt setback. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

For the fourth year in a row, Europe recorded growth in purchases abroad of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery, which increased by X% to X units in 2023. In general, imports saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, loading machinery imports totaled $X in 2023. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The purchases of the four major importers of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery, namely the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and Russia, represented more than third of total import. The following importers - Italy (X units), Spain (X units), Poland (X units), Norway (X units), Switzerland (X units), Sweden (X units) and Austria (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Spain, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2023, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2023, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
