In 2023, overseas shipments of cereal flours decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cereal flour exports declined sharply to $X in 2023. In general, exports continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Sweden (X tons) was the main destination for cereal flour exports from Norway, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, cereal flour exports to Sweden exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Finland (X tons), fourfold.
