Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.

In value terms, chili and pepper exports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main destinations of chili and pepper exports from Turkey, together accounting for X% of total exports. Bulgaria, Ukraine, Austria, the Netherlands, the UK, Belarus, Serbia, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israel lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of chilies and peppers (green) decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
