Exports by Country
South Sudan (X tons) was the main destination for virgin olive oil exports from Uganda, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, virgin olive oil exports to South Sudan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X kg), more than tenfold.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to South Sudan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the amount of virgin olive oil imported into Uganda shrank to X tons, dropping by X% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of virgin olive oil imports to Uganda, together comprising X% of total imports. Tunisia, Portugal, the United States, South Africa, Turkey, the UK and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Tunisia (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest virgin olive oil suppliers to Uganda were Tunisia ($X), Italy ($X) and Spain ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
