As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cigars and cigarillos exports dropped markedly to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for cigars and cigarillos exports from Ukraine, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, cigars and cigarillos exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), threefold.

In 2023, the Dominican Republic (X tons) constituted the largest cigars and cigarillos supplier to Ukraine, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, cigars and cigarillos imports from the Dominican Republic exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Latvia (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Dominican Republic totaled X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Latvia (X% per year).

In value terms, the Dominican Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cigars, cheroots and cigarillos to Ukraine, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Honduras, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the Dominican Republic stood at X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Honduras (X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average cigars and cigarillos import price stood at $X per ton in 2023, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed tangible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the price for the Dominican Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
