Exports from the U.S.

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of current-carrying wiring devices decreased by -4.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 221% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, current-carrying wiring device exports soared to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2013 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Mexico (X tons) was the main destination for current-carrying wiring device exports from the United States, accounting for a 63% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, current-carrying wiring device imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2013 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
