Malt Exports

For the seventh year in a row, the global market recorded growth in shipments abroad of malt, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X%. The global exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, malt exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The biggest shipments were from Australia (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons), together accounting for X% of total export. Germany (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Canada (X%), Argentina (X%), China (X%) and Uruguay (X%). The following exporters - the Netherlands (X tons), the United States (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest malt supplying countries worldwide were Belgium ($X), France ($X) and Australia ($X), with a combined X% share of global exports. Germany, Canada, Argentina, China, the Netherlands, the United States, Uruguay, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Russia, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average malt export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
