In 2023, purchases abroad of mushrooms and truffles was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a seven-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports soared to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Romania (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2023. Slovakia (X tons) held an X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Bulgaria (X%). The following importers - Poland (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - each reached an X% share of total imports.
