Buckwheat Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average buckwheat import price amounted to $679 per ton, shrinking by -9.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 41% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,119 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($681 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan stood at $673 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (-2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In September 2023, the average buckwheat export price amounted to $612 per ton, waning by -7.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a deep contraction. From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Buckwheat Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, approx. 20K tons of buckwheat were imported into Lithuania; with an increase of 19% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 301% against the previous year.
