In value terms, fresh pork cut exports rose remarkably to $4.1B in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 11%. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the maximum at $4.7B in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports By Country

The United States was the major exporting country with an export of about 627K tons, which reached 33% of total exports. Denmark (291K tons) held a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (13%), Spain (10%), Germany (9.3%) and Canada (7%). France (53K tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The United States was also the fastest-growing in terms of the fresh or chilled hams, shoulders and cuts of pig meat exports, with a CAGR of +6.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Canada (+5.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
