Hardboard Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022
In March 2022, the average hardboard export price amounted to $462 per cubic meter, waning by -11.3% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $557 per cubic meter in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Russia ($541 per cubic meter) and Kazakhstan ($450 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($392 per cubic meter) and Hungary ($416 per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Hardboard Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average hardboard import price amounted to $405 per cubic meter, declining by -22.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2021 an increase of 16% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $550 per cubic meter in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,010 per cubic meter), while the price for Russia ($372 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Hardboard Exports in Belarus
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of hardboard, when their volume decreased by -5.5% to 311K cubic meters. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. The exports peaked at 329K cubic meters in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, hardboard exports rose significantly to $177M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Hardboard Imports in Belarus
For the third consecutive year, Belarus recorded decline in overseas purchases of hardboard, which decreased by -9.3% to 14K cubic meters in 2022. In general, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The smallest decline of -4.3% was in 2021. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 20K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, hardboard imports rose significantly to $8.1M in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%. Imports peaked at $8.6M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
