Hardboard Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average hardboard export price amounted to $1,063 per cubic meter, with an increase of 4.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,301 per cubic meter; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,319 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($833 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average hardboard import price stood at $993 per cubic meter in September 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 27% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,106 per cubic meter in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Turkey amounted to +2.8% per month.

Hardboard Exports in Slovenia

In 2022, overseas shipments of hardboard decreased by -38.6% to 5.2K cubic meters, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 4.6%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 10K cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, hardboard exports fell sharply to $4.6M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $7.1M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
