Maize Price in Venezuela (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average maize import price amounted to $228 per ton, falling by -10.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 33%. The import price peaked at $315 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($274 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($109 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average maize export price stood at $1,039 per ton in 2022, waning by -72.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 177%.
