Price for Butter and Dairy Spreads in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

In September 2023, the average butter and dairy spreads import price amounted to $5,595 per ton, increasing by 4.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 5.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $7,036 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($9,727 per ton), while the price for Latvia ($4,992 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Price for Butter and Dairy Spreads in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average butter and dairy spreads export price amounted to $5,391 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $7,479 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Israel ($7,077 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($3,408 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of Butter and Dairy Spreads in Lithuania

In 2022, imports of butter and dairy spreads into Lithuania amounted to 5.7K tons, picking up by 11% compared with 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 13%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, butter and dairy spreads imports skyrocketed to $39M in 2022. In general, imports saw significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, butter and dairy spreads exports amounted to $27M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.3% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
