The average import price for electric motors and generators stood at $23.2 per unit in December 2023, with an increase of 4.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 an increase of 5% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $25.3 per unit in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $77.2 per unit in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($124 per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($52.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
