In October 2023, the average export price for fresh or chilled carcasses and half-carcasses of bovine meat amounted to $5,640 per ton, flattening at the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,775 per ton. From May 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($6,276 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($5,507 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 14% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $7,520 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($9,253 per ton), while the price for Poland ($6,056 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
