Price for Lamb and Sheep Meat in Qatar (CIF) - 2023
The average lamb and sheep meat import price stood at $6,467 per ton in June 2023, declining by -8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.2% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,299 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($7,911 per ton), while the price for Spain ($3,678 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Lamb and sheep meat imports into Qatar surged to 23K tons in 2022, with an increase of 23% against 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a deep reduction.
