In July 2023, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $5,823 per ton, falling by -4.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 5% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,099 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kosovo ($12,017 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($3,206 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $5,398 per ton in July 2023, shrinking by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 26% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,770 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ireland ($9,259 per ton), while the price for Germany ($2,172 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of meat of bovine animals; frozen, when their volume decreased by -5.8% to 101K tons. In general, exports recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 2.7%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 107K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, meat of bovine animals; frozen exports surged to $626M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
