Price for Natural Rubber and Gum in Greece (CIF) - 2022
The average natural rubber and gum import price stood at $3,463 per ton in 2022, increasing by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,858 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($6,447 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,724 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average natural rubber and gum export price stood at $4,912 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 159%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $6,451 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($5,187 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($423 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (-10.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Natural Rubber and Gum in Greece
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of natural rubber and gums, when their volume decreased by -13.1% to 1.1K tons. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.3K tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, natural rubber and gum imports stood at $3.9M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 27%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
