In 2022, the average import price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses amounted to $33,671 per ton, waning by -3.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 107% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $34,766 per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($40,921 per ton), while the price for France ($19,471 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+32.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 520% against the previous year.
