The average export price for optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves stood at $56,675 per ton in December 2022, dropping by -8.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $77,055 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($95,692 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($20,690 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for optical elements; polarising material, sheets and plates thereoves stood at $69,821 per ton in December 2022, growing by 10% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 42% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $114K per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($227K per ton), while the price for the United States ($30,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
