In January 2024, the average import price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds amounted to $2.4 per square meter, with an increase of 46% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured expansion from January 2023 to January 2024: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2024 figures, import price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds decreased by -0.4% against November 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 49% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2.9 per square meter in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to January 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2.4 per square meter), while the price for China totaled $689 per thousand square meters.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+20.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds stood at $2.1 per square meter in 2022, shrinking by -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 5.3%. The export price peaked at $3 per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2.8 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($0.8 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at 4.5M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles; sensitised, unexposeds contracted modestly to $6.3M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 32%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at $10M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
