In 2022, the average import price for spices; cardamoms, crushed or ground amounted to $16,575 per ton, declining by -2.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 74%. The import price peaked at $16,979 per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($83,177 per ton), while the price for China ($4,639 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+47.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
