In 2022, the average export price for spices; mace, crushed or ground amounted to $19,060 per ton, declining by -5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $20,097 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets.
