By contrast, India (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China, Singapore, Madagascar, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic increased by +16, +7.7, +5.5, +3.8, +2.7 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Singapore ($55M), Vietnam ($33M) and India ($21M) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 58% share of global exports. China, the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates and Madagascar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
The United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +11.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices By Country
In 2022, the average sewing machine needle export price amounted to $20 per thousand units, declining by -4.8% against the previous year.
