Exports by Country

Singapore (X units) was the main destination for electronic chip exports from Malaysia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, electronic chip exports to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X units), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume to Singapore amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (X% per year) and China (X% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for electronic chip exported from Malaysia were Singapore ($X), Hong Kong SAR ($X) and China ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. The United States, Taiwan (Chinese), South Korea, the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
