Cauliflower and Broccoli Production in the United Arab Emirates - 2022
In 2022, production of cauliflower and broccoli decreased by -27.6% to 10K tons, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. Overall, production, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 187% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak volume of 19K tons. From 2020 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure. Cauliflower and broccoli output in the United Arab Emirates indicated a strong increase, which was largely conditioned by a buoyant increase of the harvested area and a pronounced expansion in yield figures.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli production dropped to $36M in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 159% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $51M. From 2020 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Harvested Area in the United Arab Emirates - 2022
In 2022, the total area harvested in terms of cauliflower and broccoli production in the United Arab Emirates reduced markedly to 332 ha, shrinking by -20.2% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, the harvested area, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 124% against the previous year. As a result, the harvested area reached the peak level of 545 ha. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the cauliflower and broccoli harvested area remained at a lower figure.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Yield in the United Arab Emirates - 2022
In 2022, the average cauliflower and broccoli yield in the United Arab Emirates declined to 31 tons per ha, falling by -9.3% on 2021 figures. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2017 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, the yield reached the peak level of 34 tons per ha. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the average cauliflower and broccoli yield remained at a lower figure.
