Molasse Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022
The average molasse import price stood at $524 per ton in 2022, jumping by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a prominent expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($774 per ton), while the price for Russia ($396 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+36.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average molasse export price amounted to $952 per ton, growing by 105% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a remarkable increase. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+74.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Molasse Imports in Brazil
In 2022, supplies from abroad of molasses decreased by -23.5% to 4.8K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
